There are many ways in which I can go with this post. I can tell you how tired I am and need to go to sleep. Or I can tell you how tired I am of having a messy computer. But, neither of those are what this post is about.
To tell you the truth, this post is not about being tired at all. But it does have to do with tires, you know, tires on a car.
Yesterday I was driving home from my boyfriends house and I started to hear a ‘pat pat pat’ noise. I thought it was coming from the car next to me, which happened to look like it needed a ton of repairs, but when the car drove past me, the noise was still there. So I decided to do some investigating. I was close to the street light, so I was able to turn onto a less major street where I pulled over to the side of the road.
Once I was a safe distance from the main road, I stopped the car and put on my hazards. (As a side note – whenever you pull over to the side of the road, safe or not, you should always turn on your hazards.) I then walked around the car to investigate my tires, and low and behold, my tire was indeed blown.
The first thing that I did was look for a spare tire in the back of my car (which is a white Chrysler PT Cruiser). Unfortunately, this was a challenge as the tire was locked under the car. The only way to get the tire was to unscrew a bolt and remove the lining from the ‘trunk’. This was really difficult as I did not have any tools in the car (I will be adding them now).
And even if I had the tool to open the compartment to get the tire, I would not be able to change the tire by myself lol.
Good thing I am a AAA member. I called Roadside Assistance and they came out. He then mentioned that my other tires looked like they would blow soon as well and needed to be replaced. Based off his statement, I decided to get my car towed (with my plan, any tow under 100 miles is free) to my mechanic to just have all 4 tires replaced.
The only issue with this however, is that my mechanic was closed today. They have a night drop box, so I was able to leave my car and my key for them to get when they opened.
They contacted this morning and they will be able to change the tires (we are just going to get all 4 tires replaced) by the end of business day today :] YAY!!!
I will update when I pickup the car, but as for now, I am carless lol.
Update: I picked up my car with 4 brand new tires. It drives super smoothly now. :]
I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else, or at least make sure you are safe if it does happen.
